The Summit EMA competition is based on the foundation that advertising is consistently at the forefront of the technological evolution of communication. It was created to identify the world’s marketing communication pioneers – those pushing the bounds of the communication badlands.

The Adobe/Amazon.com Product Selector is an online application on Amazon.com that removes the guesswork for Adobe customers selecting products to buy. Instead of a static banner ad, the selector is an interactive application powered by Adobe ColdFusion and AJAX technology with a back-end database that recommends products and brings the user right to the Amazon.com purchasing page to shorten the sales cycle.

Scott Design earned a Gold Davey Award for its work on an Amazon.com application that helps Adobe customers select the best products for their needs. The Adobe-Amazon.com Product Selector is hosted on Amazon.com in the Adobe Store.

Scott Design received a Silver Davey Award for the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce website. The redesigned site has become the trusted source for information on local Santa Cruz businesses, services, news, and resources.

The Davey Awards competition is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from media, advertising, and marketing firms.

Scott Design received a Silver Award in the 2011 W3 Awards competition. The W3 Awards honor outstanding websites, web marketing, web video, and mobile apps created by some of the best interactive agencies, designers, and creators worldwide. Website entries were judged on creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design, and ease of use.

Scott Design was honored in the Innovative/Experimental Media category for its work on the Adobe/Amazon.com Product Selector app.

The 2011 W3 Awards generated more than 3,000 entries from ad agencies, public relations firms, interactive agencies, in-house creative professionals, web designers, graphic designers, and web enthusiasts.  The W3 Awards are sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms.

Scott Design received three Communicator Awards in a competition honoring creative excellence among professionals worldwide.

An Award of Excellence recognized Scott Design’s work on the Photoshop 20^th Anniversary website, which details the software’s history and success. The website — featuring an interactive timeline — won in the Microsite category.

Scott Design also received an Award of Distinction in the Microsite category for the InDesign 10^th Anniversary website. The site celebrates the software’s past decade of achievement.

A second Award of Distinction, in the Associations category, honored Scott Design’s work on the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce website. That site provides a forum for local businesses to market their services, and it also keeps Santa Cruz area residents informed about news and events surrounding their community, local businesses, and the Chamber itself.

Scott Design received three Bronze prizes in the Horizon Interactive Awards competition that honors the“best of the best” in interactive media production worldwide.

A Bronze award in the Business-to-Business category recognized Scott Design’s work on a website for Braemar Energy Ventures. That website reflects Braemar’s standing as a bold, well-established backer of innovative ventures.

The Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce website captured Bronze for Scott Design in the Activism/Non-Profit category. The website provides information about working, living, and playing in Santa Cruz. It also includes extensive member features, news and events, and an online business directory.

Scott Design’s own website took a Bronze award in the Self-Promotion/Portfolio category.

Recognizing work completed in 2010, the ninth annual competition saw more than 1,000 entries from 22 countries. An international panel of judges, consisting of industry professionals with diverse backgrounds, and an end-user panel evaluated entries in 37 different categories ranging from online advertising to mobile applications. The entries came in a wide range of media, including websites, CDs and DVDs, online ads, video, mobile applications, and more.

“The 2010 competition was an outstanding entry field,” said Mike Sauce, founder of the Horizon Interactive Awards.  “The overall diversity and quality of entries we received was fantastic, and judging was very competitive. We’re starting to see a convergence of all types of media, from web to mobile, into more integrated solutions for clients around the world. That’s exciting to see!“

Scott Design won Outstanding Achievement Awards for the Photoshop 20th Anniversary microsite and the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce website in the 2010 Interactive Media Awards. The Photoshop 20th Anniversary award was in the Computer Software category and the Santa Cruz Chamber award was in the Non-Profit category.

The Outstanding Achievement award bestowed by IMA is a challenging award to win. Selected websites must excel in all areas of  judging criteria and winning sites represent a very high standard of planning, execution, and overall professionalism. In order to win this award level, the site had to successfully pass through a comprehensive judging process, achieving high marks in each of the judging criteria – design, content, feature functionality, usability, and standards compliance.

The Augmented Reality Snowstorm is one of the fun online games Scott Design creates each year. Visitors can put themselves and their families in a virtual snowstorm using a computer’s webcam and a printed marker. The other award recognized Scott Design’s creation of a microsite celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Photoshop software launch. The microsite features an interactive timeline covering the history of Photoshop, the people who made this great piece of creative software, and the evolution of the interface and packaging.
